Default do stall converters fail

if i launch from a stop and when it gose to shift in to second gear it just slips and wont shift till i let out of the gas a lil...and if i jsut drive it normally it shifts fine, it feels like a real bad slipping clutch so thats why im thinkin my converter is failin

The trans is most likely on the way out.

most likely its the 2-4 band...time for a rebuild.

Sounds like the tranny to me. When the clutch packs took a crap on me awhile back the car did the same as you described. Stalls can fail if you say didnt break it in properly after it was first installed etc. but sounds like your transmission in this case. It also possible that the plates ballooned on the converter and took out the clutch packs but being that hasnt happend to me I cant describe how the car would feel in that case to see if its whats happening to you.
