Default ABS Inop and Trac light help

i type up this search in other threads yet no one else has the same problem, im pretty much clueless, in my 95 T/A (stock pretty much) my abs inop light and trac control just come on once and a while, for no reason, my trac control doesnt work when they are both on too.My pedal feels weird, it feels kind of sponge-e but with the pedal half way engaged you can feel a clunk almost and the pedal gets softer, then there are some days my abs inop and trac control lights never come on after a whole day of driving.

kinda similiar for me here, every now and then my abs inop light comes on but only for like 10 minutes then it turns right back off and sometimes wont come back on for a week or every two. also my low trac light occasionally comes on when the abs inop light is on.

Funny that you two just posted this because mine just recently started acting up also and I'm in the process of tracing it down. Only difference is my Abs Inop, Brake, and Low Trac light all come on. It's only done it twice and started about a week ago. But nothing changes while I'm driving, everything feels normal?

The Abs Inop light has always been on since I'm lowered but the other 2 just started acting up like I said about a week ago. I have noticed that when I come to a complete stop at a light that all the mentioned lights will turn off.

try adding a smidge of brake fluid! Sometimes if the brake fluid gets a little low from brakes wearing down it will set the traction and brake light off! Even if it looks like there is plenty of fluid in it.

My ABS Inop light came on last week too. It had done it before and just turned off a day or so later. Now, it won't turn off, and my Air Bag light came on at the same time. When they first came on, my Low Trac and Brake lights would flash like crazy for a while. But, after sitting there holding the brake pedal down, they turned themselves off. I think it's because I need to get some new brake pads though. The passenger side front brake is pretty bad and it's creating a lot of brake dust.

Change ur pads, Add fluid if needed. This will solve 90pct of the mentioned issues. And like mentioned above if that dont work get it scaned for the code.
Good luck

Well i have a problem with that, i have a $400 scan tool, but when i put my year , make and model in the tool it comes up as the ALDL plug in, My plug for my car is a late model 95 so it has a OBD-2 plug but a OBD-1 computer so i was told. What can i do about that?

You need to go buy a aldl cable made for our year of cars. And scan it on a laptop with tunercats or something. Atleast thats what I did. Cable is pretty cheap.

BTW my abs inop light just started coming on for no reason. First it was intermittent now its all the time. My sisters is the same way. Pads and rotors are brand new. Fluid is good. I'm lost too.

Everyone, check your ground wires near the battery. I have scene the grounds wires loosen up over time and cause this problem. It may not be the problem with your car, but check the ground wires that ground near the battery by the shock tower. Make sure they have a good clean connection and are tight.

my scan tool does come with the ALDL cable but my car has the OBD-2 plug with a OBD-1 computer, the ALDL cable will not fit
