Default Does anyone know what pulse generator failure means

Been getting a service engine soon light, checked with reader said "pulse generator failure" anyone know what it means, I'm thinking opti!, what do you guys think?

Yeah, that's opti... There's a Hi-Res pulse, and a Lo-res pulse. If the Lo-Res pulse goes, then the opti won't work at all. With the Hi-Res failing, you can get the car to run (usually) with decreased performance. Either way, it's time for a new Opti.

Yeah it runs but not good, ok time for a new one, now what to buy aftermarket, oem, used???

Time to shop.

If it runs poorly, then it's just time to change your opti. ONLY replace with genuine AC DELCO part, as many other brands cause nothing but problems. Summit Racing sells them for a fair price.

msd optis are good too, i have one and have had no problems. i also know a few other people who have used them with no problems
