I saw one of the hemi chargers running 8.8s to 9.0s in the 1/8 with just slicks! Then to amaze me even more he pulls back around and hits it with a 125 shot and goes 7.7s consistent! Damn thats fast for a big *** car!

 

Friend of mine had an SRT-8 version of the 300C and it ran 8.50 @ 85 in the 1/8... STOCK!

 

this race sounds like it was completely driver error, and i dont mean to pound it in on you but, i had a very similiar race with a very similiar car.

it was an older lady in a charger R/T orange with black stripes and we were turning off the freeway onto the main road and she just punches it and chirps the tires a little, this put her about half a car ahead of me as i nailed the throttle to catch up. right as i hit second gear i immediately pulled that half car back and started to edge on her and she immediately let off the throttle when she realized i was pulling at a decent rate. craziest part was she was like a 45-50 y/o woman! she was grinning the whole time.

she was alone, i had my girlfriend with me and i have less mods then you do.

just goes to show from a dig if i didnt have my girl and we actually lined up i would have put maybe 1-1.5 cars on her from just 0-65 or so.

 

You spun dude! spinning = losing (unless its a burnout competition). Find a quiet road somewhere that is straight and has little or no traffic and just practice your starts from like 0-40'ish.

 

!driver? lol jk ive lost a few easy races due to poor driving. im 20 years old and ive only had a few sports cars. 2-3 years of driving experience isnt making me a pro lol

 

you know as im reading this thread, im coming to realize our cars are getting slow. 275 horse isnt fast anymore. thats like accord power. 500 is the new 200.... so time to step it up lol.

 

That and he can't drive. Why else did I get out of the lt1 game.

 

honestly it looks like you need to pratice your driving skills

 

Some of the new cars are not slouches. A run in with a Cadillac CTSV was the reason I for my head cam install.

On the street with out a full tank of gas , I'll leave the traction control on for best acceleration. But I usually try to have a full tank of gas because my car needs the weight on the rear tires.

i had a race with a 03/04 Cobra guy he let off at 60-70mph, cause i put like 5-6 cars on him lol i think same thing happend to him as what happend to you. too much wheel spin and not really moving.

Get better tires. Next tap the throttle with out letting tires break loose then hit it hard once your up to speed. Little bit of wheel spin is ok but if you smoke the tires its not good.

 

Needs the !driver! mod...

J/K time to practice that launch and get some good tires.
