tune question
tune question i just swapped my rear end from a 273 to a 323 and was wondering if not getting a tune could cause the transmission to feel like its slipping. i know that the computer has to be retuned for the speedometer to be corrected, but now it is slipping above 4000 rpms in every gear and im wondering if im having a mechanical issue or if it could be a possible tuning problem. thank you.
It could be. Not tuning it can cause shift problems in some cases.

If you just noticed it after you changed the rear and it was working fine before, then that's almost certainly the problem.
Transmissions usually slowly start slipping. It's a gradual process. So it was mechanical you would probably have noticed it getting worse over time, not starting all at one point.

alright man. thanks for the help. i didnt notice that other post or i wouldnt have started this one. i guess im gonna get it tuned and go from there. and i know the tranny fluid probably needs to be changed...

It did on mine 96TA i bought a Hypertech tuner it lets you set your shift points thermastat gear ratio added a little hp and my fuel mileage was around 22mpg. But i wasted money on it i am now in the middle of a 383 stroker swap and putting a 350 turbo email me if you may want the tuner craigbowman@yahoo.com
