How hard is it to over heat o2 sensors?

Default How hard is it to over heat o2 sensors?

I took the car to get tuned today and the guy told me my o2s might be melted since i blew my cats out with backfiring. a lot of melted, fist sized chunks came out.i hope they aren't melted but i just wanna see.

im talking about the sensor itself. the part inside the exhaust. the one that actually sees exhaust gases. i wouldnt think it would be that easy to melt would it?

when was the last time you replaced them? just get some new ones if you are that worried. ive heard quite a few people say to get the acdelcos if you replace them
