sorry that may have been a little vague. its a 355 with hypreutic pistons and everything else is stock (heads, rotating assembly, intake, etc.) but this motor didn't come with a cam so that's why i ask any suggestions at the least? looking for something just above mild thanks.

oh my bad, i forgot about all the factors. it's a budget build and i'm just trying to get it back on the road asap and everything about the car is stock except for the gears in the back which are 3.73 and the mods in my sig. and i'm only talking like a 75-dry shot. stock stall daily driven and i guess smooth would be nice but i can go choppy.

Guessing the pistons are pretty heavy and the rods/bolts stock?? Keep the rpms down.
Dry shot on stock injectors is asking for trouble. Dry enriches by spiking fuel pressure and stock injectors lock closed if overpressurized.
Likely would have been better off with a junkyard motor as I don't know of any aftermarket hyperutectic pistons with as good a ring pack as stock and the stockers are reasonably light for a SBC OEM piston.

id say no bigger than a 230/236...and like caprice said, i would go with a wet shot instead of dry, unless you have upgraded injectors/fuel pump....also i just noticed you didnt have LT's listed in your mods, get a set of those too. pacesetters are great for the price.

How heavy are the pistons and what was done to the rods? If the answer is 550+grams and "not much" then I would stay smaller yet. Say comp 503 or smaller, can always correct the LSA to get a nice idle out of it. I say "correct" because the off the shelf LSAs are rediculously wide to compensate for most guys overcamming everything.
Should also be noted that you should NOT spread the LSA for nitrous at the low levels nearly everyone here uses, start thinking out it if you look at a 300 shot. Just about all the cams we all run are already on wider than optimal for peak power LSA and we should be considering the usual 112 as quite wide to begin with.

Well it seems like a smaller cam is really what you want. I wouldn't personally go any larger than a cc503 (224/230) or gm846 (222/230) with your setup but even they seem larger than what your looking for. You NEED a decent sized stall converter to run either of those cams or the drivability will be rather poor, trust me been there done that. If your wanting to keep the stock stall you would be good to go with the Crane 227 (210/224) or LPE 211/219. They have amazing drivability and will idle smooth like you want. Even then you should really put a larger stall in the car because an automatic really isnt anything much on the track or street without one plus cams really need them but if you really dont want to you should be fine.
