Default Broken 10 bolt

Well, I decided to take my buddy for a ride in my freshly built LT1 yesterday... floored it when we pulled on the main road and it spun the Nittos till about 6500 rpms, then suddenly caught traction. When it did, it bogged the engine way down. I was like, huh. Doesn't normally bog like that... Oh well. I grabbed 2nd, and BOOM! click, click click BOOM. Limped it back to his house, and took the driveshaft loose, and sure enough- I broke the 10 bolt. I can turn the pinion yoke like 1/8 turn freely. Guess i broke the teeth of my ring gear. I think my buddy was kinda impressed! I wasn't. Cost me $85 to get it towed back home I was hopin to run it at the strip at least once before it broke.

Or you can get a S60. I really like mine so far but still in the break in period.

Agreed! We put an S60 in a friend of mine's car and I was impressed with the ease of install, and it's supposed to be as strong as any 9"

It depends on the 9" you are comparing to, but anywhere from ~10-60 lbs heavier

You can piece the 9" together for alot less the one complete, you'll save about 5-600.00, then you can use the extra for a custom driveshaft & new torque arm.

I like my S60 so far and it was simple to install. The S60 is heavy compare to the 10 bolt. I have no idea what it is compare to the 9-inch. I am happy with my choice.

When I was comparing the 9-inch to the S60 the 9-inch came with 31 spline axles and the S60 came with 35. I think the 31 spline axles would be strong enough. For the set up I wanted the S60 was about $300 cheaper.

Could be your tranny mount. Do you feel anything in the transmission tunnel when you hear the thud?
