Help with odd '95 caprice problem

Help with odd '95 caprice problem 4 weeks ago i was on my way back from work, and my car started to cut out when i would push the throttle down more than about 1/4. it has driven fine since then.
the rest of the situation: it was low on gas, still had at least 3 gal in it. it was a hot day 90+degree. i took a corner and left it in 6th way too slow a speed. then started acting up as above. pulled to the side and it would rev no problem got back on the road and it did the same thing. then it started idleing(sp?) rough. while waiting for someone to come get me i did a couple of things. like there was a bunch of stuff. like a mouse nest in front of the computer. and while cleaning around the comp i unpluged batt. i know this lost the codes but i was just trying to get home. but i pulled it home and to get it in the parking spot i started it up ran fine.
reason i ask is i have about 3000 more miles to drive before i get home for school in a month.
i probably have forgot some things

The fuel gauges are not particularly accurate, the baffling in the tank is terrible.
I would say change the fuel filter and see how it runs.
Running very low on fuel is rough on the fuel pump, it can overheat.

^^^ Have to agree with Dwayne on that one 
They used to be pretty bad on the older tanks Dwayne. My 89 caprice even with a 1/2 tank of gas, going around hard corners would cause the car to shut off
