When my m6 was stock it ran best shifting around 6000 acording to the tach, but we all know they read 100-200rpm high. On a scanner it was really turning 5750-5800. spinning a stock lt-1 higher than that is just more wear and tear on the motor!

Nothing was said about application in the original statement. The statement was about the limitations of stock heads and it was wrong.

Another dumb statement. Setting limits on your combination is not the same as reaching the limits of your combination.

I seriously doubt you shift your car at peak torque!

Torque isn't everything. Most chevy motors make peak torque in the mid 4000's rpm and make peak horsepower in the 6000's rpm. If you shifted at peak torque, you'd be losing a lot of potential power.

Not convinced...shift your car at ~4500 rpm for every gear and see what happens.

that was one sick LT1 you had there with just CAI and Cat-back exhaust, i realize you are an auto so my numbers wont be quite like yours, but my car on the dyno with similar miles and mods pulled all the way about 5000 rpm for peak power and only dropped a couple HP's all the way up to 5700 rpm where i let off

peak torque was was hard to tell because it was pretty much level from 2000 rpm to 4500 RPM

I'll have to change my earlier statement i made, obviously it was a fuel issue, but after i installed a new pump & gears (4.11s), then i got to playing around with fuel pressure, i can now pull it to 6-6100 on the tach & its pulling there, i'm sure i can go higher, but don't want to push it, so i will say now its doable, 55-5600 (on the tach) now is just too low a shift point for the M6.
