Default Quick A/C Question

About a year ago I was working on my car and accidently broke the AC condensor line (the one that goes from the condensor to by the radiator). Before i broke that line my ac worked fine, i have finally gotten around to replacing the line and tried to throw some freon in it but i cant seem to be getting any pressure and the ac is not getting colder. Is the compressor bad or does it just need to be professionaly pressurized and flushed out?

you should always vacuum your system to remove air and moisture. plus if your system was open for that long might want to replace the drier as well.

I did something similar to that with mine and after I filled it back up I had ac for about a day then dead. Take it to a shop and they should do an inspection for like 40-50 bucks to see exactly whats wrong.

free bump to subscribe. My compressor rubbed a hole in mine after I replaced my radiator

Florida's hot and sticky this time of year.

You absolutely must replace the dryer. It contains a dessicant which will fill with moisture and become totally useless, sometimes blocking the flow of refrigerant.
Then run a vacuum on it (some recommend 24 hours, but IMHO that is overkill).
Here is a link which gives an overall view on the work:
