9" or 12 bolt???
Street set up a 12 bolt would work well. 12 bolts have less drivetrain loss than 9 inch. Also with 35 spline axles you wont break them with street abuse.
9 inch for a e/t car. You can swap out gears on site at the track Bigger ring and pinion than the 12 bolt. A well built fab 9 will handle the abuse from anything a lt1 can throw at it.
When I had PEPE I swapped my 12 bolt to a 9 due to ring/pinion bent teeth breakage, turns out Pyle Bros in Baytown wasn't paying attention and put in the wrong gear set (series 3 or 4 carrier not sure what I had) for the carrier my 12 bolt had, didn't find this out till I swapped and someone else had it fixed the right way and I had the 9" fully built and in the car by then...live and learn.
Also depends are you a auto or manual? The S60 is heavy but less drive train loss than a 9-inch and stronger than a 12-bolt. I would go with a 9-inch or S60 if your a manual and a 12-bolt if your an auto. Trending Topics
