stall?

yank and vig stalls r claming .5 to .7 off 1/4 times. I was just want to know wat kind of times yall guying picked up after a stall swap. Thanks

I did the stall as part of a full tranny build, did not have a shift kit or anything before and had a 1650 stall before. Went to a 2800 Edge. Car was also already mildly cammed with a ZZ4 cam. Gained .8 and it was too long ago to remember how the weather affected things but this was on street tires. Went from 14.9 to 14.1. Car also had stock manifolds and cats and was on 87 octane. Basically early on I did everything backwards, I have things figured out just a little bit better these days.

Basically I think the .5-7 is reasonable. Imagine if I had had slicks the gain would have been greater.

I do agree that .5+ is a very reasonable gain to expect.

Does yank and vig drop the times like that or any stall converter will drop the time like .5-7 ?

Any GOOD converter will, IMO for a 9.5" lockup stick to Edge, Yank or Vigilante. Once you start getting into Midwest, Fuddle, TCI things become a bit hit and miss.

I always thought Midwest was a good converter for race cars. Or maybe I'm thinking about another company?

dont buy a tci i bought a 3000 from them and it didnt last 5k miles. i didnt even make to the track with it and that was on street tires on mild bolt ons
