k..anyone know the stock GM double roller timing chain number and a good vented Opti spark to go with? I want to upgrade to the better Opti and timing chain during my cam install.

The stock GM timing chain is not a double roller. Only options for "upgrades" really are a double roller SBC chain if you use an electric waterpump (you have to clearance the inside of the timing cover if you do this though), or the LT4 "Extreme Duty" set. Most cars will do fine with just a new stock replacement though.

Also, for Optis, either go with a new AC Delco one (or Delphi from "thepartsladi" on ebay), or get an MSD.

I know the stock one is a single, I want to upgrade to the double roller. I was told you have to do this and the opti if you change the cam out...true or false??

you do not 'have' to do that if you change the cam out, maybe get a new timing chain.. if you feel the need.

Yes, and another +1 for that either AC Delco or MSD Optispark.

The LS7 lifters are a direct replacement lifter for LT1's. They are the only thing that all LS based motors and LT can share. If you go to the dealer to order LT1 lifters the LS7's are what you will get because they are just the same thing but revised to better handle the high rpm's of the LS7 motor.

Huh...called Lingenfilter Performance and Atlantic Speed earlier today and they both said the LS7 lifters will NOT fit the LT1's. Sure would be nice if they indeed do cause they are pretty inexpensive compared to others.

I hear ya just call Comp Cams and you will become stupider after hearing what they have to say. May grab some LS7's myself because my lifters may be no good but anyways no worries they will work for ya!

They called me a "tree hugger" because I wanted a cam that would pass emissions way back when I had my '95. Also they recommended a flat tappet camshaft to someone once for their LT1 when we have hydraulic roller camshafts lolol smart guys.

They told me the reason why Comp Rs were failing was because they were meant to be pulled every few passes and checked.
