Default What headers

I have a 94 z28 with basic bolt ons (stock).I really want to go with lt headers ,but I dont want to loose low torque, and mileage.I can buy some pacesetter mids real cheap, but I do not want to go through all that labor unless I see a good gain.

i agreed the MAC mids are great headers. the fitment was great and they made everything better on my 94' Z! low end, top end, noise. just make sure you either coat them or wrap them or else your engine bay can get pretty hot. if you dont plan on running emissions tho you just gotta plug up some stuff. real easy

you dont want to loose bottom end, mids would give you better mid to bottom end power than lts...if your afraid of loosing power anywhere its just and excuse to get more mods imo...lol

LT Headers you low bottom end? Wtf?
You actually gain mpg with LT's

LTs you have more low end/top end TQ
Shortys a LITTLE more mid range TQ

LTs slighty more low end HP/a noticeable amount more top end HP
shortys SLIGHTY more mid range HP

I went thru the same thing...didnt want to lose low end and planned on going with mac mids. I ended up going with coated pacesetter lt's and y-pipe. If I had to do it over again I would probably go with mac mids. From the little bit I've driven my car it seems to lack a lot of that low end tq I loved about the lt1...of course I also installed a mild cam (lpe 219/219 and supporting valvetrain) with stock stall so that might be part of my problem. I honestly haven't gotten to drive the car much since the mods were done. Reason being exhaust leaks and I didnt listen and tried using the extensions pacesetter provides...so now Im putting copper gaskets and locking header bolts on and also waiting on actual o2 extensions and new o2 sensors.

No matter which headers you go with...go ahead and cough up the extra money for good bolts, gaskets and o2 extensions. Learn from my mistake lol...I will post up a vid of my car once everything is sorted out.

I guess nobody can read...now comes the graphs.

There is no low end loss with LTs, just mid range.

As I stated before you can gain a mpg or two, unless your romping the exhaust every stop light then expect -10mpg or more.
