I have the AS&M CAI and like it a lot. I have also had the Moroso (CALLAWAY) which was equally good but cheaper.
The only two that are worth a damn IMHO are the AS&M and the Moroso. This is because the filter clamps onto a metal piece of tubing and not onto plastic. With the metal tubing you can torque the filter down tight without breaking the tubing. With platic you run risk of breaking the plastic or not being able to get the filter tight, then it always wants to fall off. Also bot allow the filter to be installed from the top instead of taking the lower under panel off. The SLP is decent buts a PITA to service.
I had a MTI plastic CAI years ago and I destroyed the plastic to the point that the filter would neer stay on. There are numerous posts where guys claim the filter falls off the K&N FIPK way too much.
All give the same gains. Its just that some function better in terms of staying together. Go for the Moroso if you want the cheaper one. Or splurge and get the AS&M.

I dyno'd with my full AS&M CAI installed then with the elbow and CAI removed (speed density). I picked up 6 RWHP without the elbow and CAI. I think this is a testament to how well the AS&M works.
My tuner also made the statement that the LS1 lids are by far the best and lose only ~2 RWHP. I would love to do this if it did not mean replacing the hood or hacking the frame.

I Have The Slp Cai As Well And It Is A Pita To Get In And Service No Doubt, But I Like The Fact That It Is Dual Tube And Cone, With Cleanable Filter Elements Just Like K&n. It Was A Little Pricey But Its Slp Common.
Plus Mine Is Black And It Matched The Entire Engine Bay And Has A Stealthy Look To It. Most My Friends Don't Even Realize I Have An Intake When They Look Under My Hood.

i have a k & n and hate the fitment, i have to force down on it against the ABS bullshit just to get the filter on, then tighting it is a differant story, i am prolly going to go custom.

JET enterprises used to make a "smooth", constant ID intake tube that fits in between the throttle body and the OE air intake box. I got one of those, a K&N filter for the OE intake box, and also opened up the opening on the air box to the full size of the filter itself.
