I had the same problem with running s/a roller rockers(Crane Goldrace). They can't handle the higher rpm's period! So I switched over to non s/a roller rockers(Comp pro mags) along w/ 7/16" rockers studs, and guideplates. No issues so far!

Just saw it.. I'm kinda baffled..didn't think it was doing that.

What is the determined cause for that guys?

i had one of my rockers do that a few months ago. i have the hotcam kit also. it didnt sound good when it happened. havn't had a problem with it since. i still have no idea how it happened since everything was adjusted correctly. i wasnt even beating on my car. just driving normal when it happened.


it was just the #1 cylinder exhaust rocker for me

Well here is hoping the Promags will be happy to around 6300 or so. So do most of you figure it was moving left to right and hitting the valve tip, or do you think it was contacting the lock/retainer?? I guess a solid this is def. it answer would be awesome.

If anyone has SA promags reads this, I'd like to know how high you are revving that motor.

Well if that's the extent of the damage, can I use them still on the other motor? Wouldn't see more than 5600rpm or so. Other motor would be the old one I'm pulling out of the Z28 so it has the stock cam in it still, with some comp springs, have forgotten which ones honestly.
