egr delete Has anyone just put a plate on the egr tube running to the manifold/header?I was wondering would this keep the engine light off.I am sure if you remove the whole egr valve ,and cap the vac line your going to get a code,even with obd1 ,just wondering if anyones tried this?
when i put on my race headers i capped the place where the tube went...but left the valve...only for a day tho...every so often the car would shake hard and pop and studder....but when i floored it it was smooth....i was assuming it went into closed loop and the valved opened or somethin like that causin a vacuum leak maybe....i dont know....

^^^ same deal here.. installed headers and capped the hole on the intake and left the valve. ONLY, mine ran fine as far as I know,.. No issues. When I went to the new motor, I went and bought the nice fabbed block offs and removed the unneccessary stuff there...
not hard at all...just 2 bolts...and unplug tiny hoses and one elec plug.....i wish i woulda done it a while back....i thought it woulda been harder....

hat do you want to accomplish in deleting it?
If you just blindly delete it without reprograming the most likely result is knock retard and reduced mileage. It does not active at WOT so it does not compromise power atall.
Far as the first sentence of your question I had to laugh out loud. Come on, everyone sees emmissions stuff as blindly evil and wants to defeat it without applying understanding. Some of these cars ar 15yo, this is not a new idea.
