Question exhaust

if u were to take the exhaust off like take it off right after the exhaust manifolds what harm could this do to ur engine what harm would be done if u took it off right after the catalyic converter thats gutted out and if i installed an electronic cutout what kind of gain in power would i see my cat is gutted out btw there is no emissions law where i live

you can burn a valve running just manifolds. you should be fine behind the cat, it will just be really really loud. you may pick up a few horses but dont expect too much. You really need to install some headers if you want to see some real gains.

Do not run exhaust straight from the manifold for any length of time. You can let it idle and putt it around the yard if you have to but any load or revving can burn the exhaust valve like IO said. As far as the cutout, having little piping before the cutout will hurt you more than it will help. Unless you hae a fully built large cubic inch motor I owuld suggest running the pipe to at least right before the rear end.
