i have two different cams ive been thinking about
i plan on doing a cam swap with in the next few months.
car has regular bolt ons.
i do drive my car pretty much daily. work and back or so about 60 miles round trip. so im wanting good everday driving. safe bet and cheapest would be lt4 hotcam kit from what i understand. friend at work is wanting me to go with the cc503 which is one step smaller than the one he had in his camaro that ran 7.70's. what is your guys opinion on what i should do and whats the power differrence i would be looking at the two?

The 503 will make a little more power than the hotcam, and actually might be a little better street manners wise. If your driving this car everyday without fail, I would definitely stay where your looking (hotcam, 305/503, something under 23X/23X with mild lift).

Both will have great street manners and pass emissions with a tune. I would opt for the cc503 because it sounds a little choppier and will put down another 10rwhp or so over the hotcam and have a little more ***** throughout the range. The hotcam kit has not so great springs so when you add in the cost of springs plus the kit then your better off piecing together your own valvetrain and cam. The lt4 springs are known not be be very strong when used with any cam other than the stock cam fyi. Some people have been fine others have not. Like said above, looks like your looking in the right duration range right now.

I was very happy with that cam and used in when I DD'd the car 2 hours a day.

Setup in sig.
Havent even tuned it and the car sounds stock above idle. My butt dyno tells me im probably making close to 350rwhp with the stock tune and fouled spark plugs. lol. It has a mean chop at my 700rpm idle but once above 1000 RPM id say it sounds milder than a 503. maybe i should have gone bigger!

you dont need a cam to run 12's. just put the money in suspension parts (ontop of standard boltons) and time and effort into dialing it in at the track on a good drag radial.
spray on top of that, 125-150 and you could get into the 11's and still retain all stock driveability!
