Wow great #s man
So last I heard about your setup, you had swapped to the Manley valve springs and they cured the valve float issue....was it just a band-aid fix and did the float come back?
I have a feeling I must have missed a thread somewhere
And was there a particular reason why you didn't re-use the Manley springs with the new LE/bullet cam?
The reason I'm so curious is because I'm still running an LE/Bauer cam with the same series lobes as your LE1.5 (but mid 230s duration)...and my motor just started within the last few weeks getting some pretty bad valve float @ 6600. So I'm thinkin about swapping cams....

A few of the Manleys broke on the intake valves. Manley claimed they were a bad batch similar to the Comp 918 problem. They did the job till they busted. That said no more beehives for me.
The Patriot extreme dual coils are certainly doing the job. Plus I have never heard of any problems with their springs.

I guess no-one makes a beehive that'll work consistantly
So are the Patriot springs what Lloyd uses with his new cams, or were they you're choice?

LE1 heads use the Crane 99893 springs (same spring as 10308-1 kit) and I use different retainers, locks and Comp 4770-16 locators.
LE2 and LE3 heads come standard with the PAC 1218 bee hives but we can upgrade to the PAC 1220 bee hive or Patriot Gold Extrremes for the same price.
The new list of cams will ALL work with the Crane dbl springs on the LE1 heads. We have some more aggressive stuff if the customer wants to use the PAC 1220 or Patriot Gold Extremes.

re
wrd1972 how long did it take till your valve float issues bacame apparent. I am running the same cam you used to have and it still feels good after 3000 miles with FREQUENT pulls up to 6800rpm Thanks Art

I drove for nearly a year before the dyno tune. It was obvious during the dyno tune that the float was occuring cause the power fell off the cliff at 6K RPM. There is no real way for me to tell when it started. Could not feel the fall off either. The dyno will tell the tale.
