Question Need advice:Installing my GMMG

I'm going to attempt to install it myself and was wondering if the stock catback would come off in one piece or if I have to cut it in front of the axle for it to come out. And also how does the GMMG fit onto the stock cat? Does it just slip in or what? I'm hoping to get this done tomorrow so I appreciate any help or tips for installing my new exhaust. I'll post some vids of it when it's done

Cut the stock exhaust off by the rear axel and you should be good to go in regards to removing it.

IDK if it bolts up to the stock cat or not. Never really had to deal with any of that since I went with a ORY.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you though!

I installed my GMMG about a month ago. I talked to Matt about the install and he explained how easy it was.

Depending on you header/manifold setup, you just cut your old pipe under the car, after the cat and the GMMG is designed to just slip over your old pipe and tighten with the supplied clamps. Its a very easy install.

I had to cut my old exhaust two times, before the rearend and after the cat.

Put the mufflers/resonators in first then put the straight pipe on and measure where you need to cut the old pipe out.

I had flowmaster before the GMMG. You will love it!

Started ripping the old one out yet?

It really is as easy as people make it sound, and a sawzall is very helpful...

You're lucky, I hope to one day have a GMMG catback on an f-body. I may try out a chambered "powerstick" on my TSP rumbler in the near future to see how it measures up.

Listen to what krill said about slipping the new exhaust over the old pipe. Just a word of caution though. If you're using the sawzall to cut after the cat, watch you don't cut into your drive shaft, its real tight in there.

And the install was really easy. I used one of those pipe cutters that looks kinda like a bicycle chain with blades... pretty easy, only took 2 or 3 min per cut.

And thanks Corey, we never did get to hang out but oh well working 10 hour days - six days a week is good money

Now I just need gears and a stall...
