I'm considering getting a delteq but is there a kit to mount the coil packs like that?

If you're talking about the ignition, that is the delteq setup (radiator mount modified). See my pic below as I have the same setup with the MSD coils:

here is their website:

www.delteq.com

but beware as they are pretty much out of buisness and there is another outfit out there called LTCC that converts to a coilover as well but one coil per cylinder as the LS1's so just do a seach here and you'll find tons of info. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you really want to mount it to the head like that, I dont think you would have any problems doing it by just either using the holes supplied in the mounting plate for the coils OR drilling your own mounting holes and making it work

Doesnt look to be too hard, remember you have a few holes to work with once the coil setup is gone...

I have a full Delteq setup with the radiator mount, all new still in the box and plastic bags. If you are interested in buying it send me a PM... I'll give you a good deal.

If you want pictures, I can take everything out of the box and snap a few, so you know just what you are getting.

no problems with my delteq setup. I have it on the valve cover still. I'm also interested in relocating it. Although, finding a spot large enough while still keeping access as conveniant as possible is the issue. Bolting it to the head (like that first photo) seems alright if you dont have any of the typical CAI kits for the LT1. You could use OTVC stuff if you did it like that. There was a post a while back that had some photo(s) of a delteq unit mounted to the firewall. I was really interested in that... wish I knew where that photo(s) went.

Love mine and never had one problem with it, and it's been installed for 3 years now. Once I got her installed the car ran smoother than ever and I now am not so worried about the opti as all the hi current is no longer flowing thru it. The only thing I would caution about the Delteq, is the company is really going down the tubes as the main guy is sick and hasn't been able to focus on Delteq. They probably won't be around for long so if you are thinking of going to a coil over setup the best bet now would be to go with the LTCC setup as they are still going strong and lots of customer support if you need it.

I think it would be fairly easy to replicate that setup. Looks like a piece of plate aluminum cut to fit, couple of holes drilled where the standoffs for the ICM sits on the head and your in business. That's definitely a nice set-up and probably helps keep the heat issues to a minimum.

Like the original Pontiac light blue

Here's mine:
