Damn I didn't realize you were still running 1.75" baby headers Throw in a Madman rack while you're at it...it's a nice piece.

Not that I know of,we bolted the headers on the engine and they fit great, cleared bigger oil pan and all,it is when we tried to connect the steering that I hit a wall, and being a month into the season(at the time) I didn't have time to find a solution so I simply put my SLP shorties back on.

I was missing about 1 1/2 inches to connect steering rack,if you put manual rack (I didn't I drive 7k a year) problem solved. Some people say that LS1 shaft is smaller, others to replace the rag joint.

You will need the stahl flange adapter plates for the headers. That is a plus as the bolts are way easier to get to with the flanges in place. The sbc ports are too small to retain the standard header bolt pattern.

The flanges that come from headman are very nice steel plates. They are a bitch to port match but if you have a laser cutter it is not bad. you can also buy the stahl flanges separately.

the headers in the picture don't look like stahl flanges to me and they look like a stepped header 65385 is a non-stepped 1 7/8 primary header, but you can see the part number on the flanges... according to Hedman you can order any header with a stepped primary, which would explain why these are a standard sbc bolt pattern.

So what are these then?

That is why they bolted on so well?

yea stahl flange has 7 bolts, 3 in a triangle shape in the middle, and 2 diagonal on each corner. 1 3/4" is as big as you can go before the primary tube overlaps the traditional bolt holes. I'm thinking those were a custom deal from Hedman 1 3/4-1 7/8 stepped, ask rick about them. But still coated in/out for 500 bucks is a good deal! look up the price on those things new

Talked to Rick last night, effectivly they are 1 3/4 going into 1 7/8 stepped headers, they are kind of a one off.
