ex. manifold gaskets

what would be the purpose of running 2 exhaust manifold gaskets per side?

better seal and if yours are paper which im sure they are it makes them stronger and harder to blow...

Really? it seems like all of that gasket material would make it easier to blow.

I agree that it may help with warped flanges though.
Although, I'd be tempted to try and fix the flange before I double-gasketed it.

Its just a band aid for a bigger problem. If it needs two gaskets to seal then it really NEEDS to be taken to a machine shop and surfaced.

Exactly!

DO NOT use 2 Gaskets.

1) Make sure the Surface area is CLEAN, that means....

a) WD-40
b) Red Scotch-Brite pad/Whirlly bird)
c) Brake Clean

Do the cyl head and header flange area

2) Dead Soft aluminum gasket, Flow tech worked the best

3) Start in the middle and work outward, repeat 3-4 times because the gasket WILL COMPRESS

4) Monitor after a few heat cycles and check occasionally.

What will happen, especially on higher comp motors is that the gasket will blow out in between each other, AND less threads for the header bolt to clamp down on and can strip cyl head threads or not ensure a proper seal.
