The vette thing is sorted out. One of the local guys in Ft. Wayne is in the process of pulling the heads so we can check the short block and see if I trashed it also. Essentially what happened was I was racing Call911 and giving as good chase as I could, and wasn't paying attention and hit the limiter HARD at full throttle top of third gear. Got into fourth, and at 4500-5000ish RPM the car just jbucked really hard once and went dead. The cam gear sheared off from the cam taking all three bolts and the dowel pin with it. According to the guy with the car, there's a lot of metal everywhere, a few mangled pushrods, and at least 5 exhaust valves STUCK open. Yeah, I tore it up good.

So, I'm running on nothing right now. I think I still have tomorrow night off in which case I have to make a line lock kit for a Vette guy and get it ready, then I'm going to hit the website running. More to follow.
