Default What sounds better

I just bought a 96 ws6 bone stock. I got the car at a great price and have a couple extra dollars to spend on some goodies. I was looking into improving the exhaust system but not sure on what to get. People let me know what you got and how you like it to help me in my decison making process.

thanks

These "what exhaust should I get" threads are all starting to get very old... Try a damn search. Everyone likes different things.

go to youtube and try finding videos there of different exhaust set-ups.

Its a very subjective question and you will get a million different answers. In my opinion if your on a budget the stainless steel Magnaflow catback is the best quality/sounding option.

Pacesetter LT's, true duals with and x-pipe, and some knock-off Flowmaster single chambers. LT's can be had for $300, or less. Jegs or Summit universal 2.5" x-pipe is $85+shipping, and mufflers are ~$60 shipped to your door. Just find a shop to fab it up for you and you're set. It cost me $300 total to have the headers put on, x-pipe fabbed, and also buy some piping to go under the axle to out back. It would've been cheaper but they had a lot of problems taking my old Edelbrock shorties off.

I love how my true duals sound but for some reason the flowmaster catback on my camaro is starting to grow on me. Its actually got a good deep tone and still is pretty loud, but im also going to get an electric cutout for the track.

I'm switching from TDs to B&B, TDs don't give me enough ground clearance (Might've been the shop who did them also).

Maybe if you werent soo ******* lazy, and tried searching for it, you would find the answers to your question a lot quicker. It took me less than a minute to find several threads identical to yours..

Look at this one, Its probibly one of the better ones that came out in the search.

Like everyone else is saying.. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to exhaust.. Try finding video or sound clips.

Buy a set of LPP stainless headers while you can. Then grab wich ever cat-back you like best or run true duals.

but on a side note before I bought my GMMG I had the same set up as now but with a dynomax bullet dumped before the axle..it was wicked sounding but way too loud ..it sounded great but was just too loud for daily driving...i heard guys with two bullets dumped liked it alot better...not to mention it was cheap until I could afford the GMMG....I spent like 30 bucks on the bullet..gave it away to a friend for free..you could do something like that until you got some real cheddar to spend

I say go with the LPP LT Stainless Steel. I think you can get the long tubes alone for $425 or $450 shipped. They are just Kooks rip offs, and a lot of guys on here have put them in and love them and have had good success with the install. Check sound clips for the mufflers you want or if you want to go cat back or what...

GMMG that's what i went with finally. I have jethot LTs, followed by a hooker ORY and finishing it off with the stainless GMMG catback. I used to have B&B...GREAT system, but just too tame for me.

What do you think?

don't forget when you are checking out sound clips that there do not tend to be many LT1 clips on there.... so pay attention, LT1s sound A LOT different from LS1s.
