From a dig the technology in the C6 Z06 is brutal. I think you be surprised in a roll from 100 plus. The stock ZR-1 would not stay even, and it shouldn't as it is down 100 hp at the wheel, and the torque is a wide separation as well, but the ZR-1 would not be embarrassed.

take a look at the C5 Z06, those were rated at 450hp IIRC, so that would only put the ZR-1 from 91 like what 30-50hp down? i cant remember their exact hp rating stock.

1. Elongated nipple for fuel pressure regulator vacuum
2. Non flat finish in casting for throttle linkage brackets
3. Cam cover with solid fitting for fresh air intake to cam cover

So how is the aftermarket parts market for the LT5? I allways thought it would be awesome to get my hands on one of these engines and bore/ stroke it, work the heads a little, some good valve springs, and some mean cams. Mainly worried about the crank and cams, what are out there for them, and how ungodly is the price? What is the bore spacing on these things? Close to a SBC at all? It would be awesome to retrofit them on a LTX engine. 32valve LTX dumdumdum!!!

Crank is 5k.
Cams new custom grind 3,200
Standard chevy bore spacing
Valve springs aren't needed as you max out at 470 lift.
Typical engine stroking
368 (bore only)
385 4" bore x 3.875 stroke
402 4" bore x 4" stroke
415 4" bore x 4.125 stroke
Couple of 421's and 427's out there and a 440 cube car. 440 engine will cost you around 45k.

Wow that's a little worse than I even thought haha. Who makes the cams and the crank? What do you mean by "Valve springs aren't needed as you max out at 470 lift"
Have you ever seen just a bare set of heads sell for them? I would love to have a set, especialy since they use SBC bore spacing.

Couple of crank manufacturers, Sonny Bryant & Jerry Crews
The max lift you will see is 470 ish. The stock springs are fine.

It looked like you were shifting around 7300 rpm?
Late to the LT-5 game (last year) and trying to learn what I need to know over on the KOTH boards. Goal is to make 500 fwhp w/stock cid.

I think he meant the max lift, as .470, due to having twin cams. not needing as much lift due to having an extra valve to do 1/2 the job of the standard, so they're smaller and less lift. I'm sure you figured that out though

There's an engine builder here in MN that's quite respectable I guess. Has quite a few LT5 packages available and range from 415hp to 600hp @ 402cid (I swore he had 427 and I though I saw a 454ci, but apparently not)
The guy is Dough Rippie and it's his name, no space and .com (not a sponsor so no linky linky!)
