Default PCM Help

Ive been through 3 or 4 pcms in this car already something is eating it..

Should I get a used harness and use that?

Or buy a new one and call it a day?

I have the perfect answer for you. I have a spare PCM thats tuned for Mac Mids, 160 thermo, 3.73, 52mm. So go get these mods done then you can buy it.

Sounds like a hell of a headache. I would check your codes first, then if nothing pops of, have someone experienced with lt1 help you diagnose it. Sounds like a ground issue to me though.

I got code 4 codes pulled today..

23: IAT temp too low

26 : EVAP Solenoid Control circuit fault

37: Brake switch stuck on (ABS light)

51: EPROM/PROM Error

IAT is easy, it got wet so thats prolly why its messed up, the EVAP I dont kow about that one, and the brake switch on? Probably my brake pedal is hitting the brake light switch, and the EPROM error... I hope I dont have to buy a new PCM

I can tackle it. I know my way thru wiring and can follow instructions and know how to work a multimeter quite well so it wont be hard. Im gonna take the dumb gound a shop added into the pcm off the tan/white wire and use a new one and go from there. That code be a fluke from bad grounds....

[edit] If it matters. but if I idle for a long time my volts will slowly start to fall.

I had a similar problem when I replaced my alternator. It wasnt grounded correctly so it would drain the battery and eventually fry the pcm.

check your alt grounds and go through and look for cuts and loose cables on all your grounds...a battery cannot not destroy your pcm nor could it fry it if your battery went dead..its a ground or something isnt right with your wiring...good luck with this again
