Personally, I'd go with German Castrol. Based on used oil analysis, it seems to be a very good oil for the LT1. Whatever oil you choose, it's probably not worth losing sleep over.
Use 10W-30 for that many miles. It won't find leaks as easily and thicker oil will lube the motor better.
With about 100K on the clock on my car, I found that synthetics leak about 1/2 a quart a month out of my motor, but when I use regular Castrol I don't have any problems, so that's what I use

a 0/5/10/w30 will work just fine. The first number just represents how thick the oil is at startup.
you can find GC at autozone only, and now recently pepboys.

Autozone carries it. It's only available in a 0W-30, but I wouldn't worry about that if I were you. It should actually provide better startup protection than a 5W or 10W. It's about the same price as Mobil 1, 5-6 bucks per quart. It should have European Formula on the front of the bottle, and it will say Made in Germany on the back. The formulation is different than their American made 0W-30, and is supposedly a full Group IV synthetic, whatever that means. If you want to know more, check out BobIsTheOilGuy.com. Those guys take their oil very seriously.
