My friend got pacesetter's a couple months ago and it was also hitting the steering linkage... right at the upper u-joint. My pacesetters I bought a long time ago fit fine. I guess pacesetter did some changes. Well on his car, we ended up grinding a little down on the u-joint since it had lots of meat anyways. We took as little off as possible while keeping it's integrity and it still works today.

My Pacesetters have plenty of clearance. Maybe they got messed up at the factory or maybe even during shipping. Crazier things could happen..

Did you try and slide over the steering linkage first?
