after installing my pacesetter long tubes my steering linkage is hitting my headers why is that ?? the last long tubes i had on my car i didnt have this problem ANY IDEAS ???

no idea... i have pacesetters on mine and never had this issue... i say just check the way everythings welded together.... maybe your exhaust is offest to that side so much when it got welded together the header got pulled that way a lil bit... just an idea.

you really dont want to make your steering linkage any thinner tahn what it is..its thin enough...just send them back and tell them what the deal is...

i second that the last thing you want to do is screw the sterring linkage up just to install headers. return them and tell them they dont fit maybe you got a bad set or the wrong year?

Did you loosen the steering colum bolts and slide it over yet? You can also just slot the bolt holes a bit to get just a bit more room.

i havent taken any pictures yet but i will tomorrow when i get home from work my car is a 95 z28 camaro the headers i ordered were pacesetter lt ceramic coated
part number 72c2239

before i installed these i had pacesetter lt painted headers with emissions and i had absolutely no problems with those

So you bought ceramic coated ones even when you had the same ones, but painted? Could've just had the ones you already had, ceramic coated...

either way those headers should have never hit ur linkage there is something wrong with the header design or maybe bent linkage if its not the linkage then u need to call pace and get new header

ok will call them now because the linkage is just fine never been in a wreck i didnt bend it the other long tubes fit just fine thanks for all your help everyone

the painted long tubes did before but it melted off and fit fine its actually hitting the linkage itself rotating bar that connects to the rack and pinion and steering column

Yea, so basically the same headers. You could've just cut off the emissions provisions or welded a plate on it.

Example for 97-01 Vettes, other than the angle of them for picture, look at the difference.

Conlusion: There is no reason they should hit and you wasted some money
