My LS Front brake lines are fine, maybe the ones you guys have that are short could be bolted to the caliper incorrectly.

I got an entire LS1 front and rear brakes setup including spindles, calipers, rotors, pads, hardware, backing plates, and complete e-brake setup for $230.00 shipped.

All I need are the brake lines. I havent installed anything yet or lined it up cause I am getting it powdercoated first so I dont know how the lines look yet...I am just buying the Russell kit anyways as a precaution.

The stock rotors suck, they will warp on you after a few hard stops..

Hey:

Z28Camaro30Ann

Make sure you buy the C5 ZO6 kit, or LS1 J65 kit w/o T/C this gives you the 3 rear lines you need (R, Center Axle/Body, L,) or you will have a few to many lines for the rear unless you do have traction control, then you'll need that kit listed with T/C. Also Powerstop or the WS6 store rotors are way better than the stock LS1 stuff.
My front LS1 warped the first ACX outing I had them on, so I upgraded and went with the C5 Brembos' stock replacement rotors front and LS1 rear, had them on till last year, no issues till they just wore down to the serviceable limit. I Have Powerstops on now because I could not fine any replacement Brembos in stock anywhere when I was looking.

Good Luck

Dub

I planned on getting different rotors anyways...the links 96lt1m6 gave me are perfect! I am definately going to buy a set. As far as the lines go...elaborate?

This is the kit I am looking at buying...will it work for my fronts AND rears or do I need to buy more stuff?

Don't mean to interupt but I had a quick question about doing the conversion as well. Is there any reason you can't upgrade just the front brakes to LS1 style? Seems like a hassle with all the rear TCS and everything.

If you wander over to CorvetteForum you might be able to score C5 lines for next to nothing, that's what I did. A lot of them change lines.

I haven't finished the install yet but looks like it will work great. Only problem is that the little tabs don't quite line up with the bracket, but neither do the LS1 lines. A little work with a file will fix it.

You can swap fronts easily. You just need spindles, calipers, rotors, and longer lines and your golden.....

The rears are another story.

how much bigger are the LS1 rear brakes? Just a single piston caliper isnt it? Personally Id debate weather the hassle was worth it or not.

Anyone have a link to the lines I need?

Converting my 96 Z to LS1 fronts.

Getting everything for $75 bucks!

I would rather have the correct lines that are easy to set up, than modifying stock lines.

Also get the Russell J65 kit w/o TC for 2002 Camaro SS
that gives you the center brake line for the Camaro. You will then have left over the 2 rear 02 Vette lines and the front 02 Camaro lines to sell as they will work fine for a 98-02 Camaro with stock brakes.
The Vette lines were longer on my Goodridge kits and would have worked in the rear as well but did not come with the center line the J65 kit has 5 line w/o TC and 7 with TC. If you don't want a stainless center line then the Vette kit is all you need, the lines will be just a little long, at least thats the way mine was.
