Default OBD2 to OBD1 swap possible?

Is it possible to take a OBD2 LTX car and turn it into a OBD1?
I can see not alot is different besides ECU and programming.

Can you just swap out ECU's? i only see minor differences between the OBD1 and OBD2 motors, mainly just the sensors.

any help you would be very appreciated.

94 motor going into a 96 car, and i prefer the OBD1 setup (dont ask)

Yes you can put OBD1 in your car all you have to do is plug it in, OBD1 checks for less Codes then OBD2 and OBD1 is also cheaper to tune if you want to tune yourself. Its also the PCM what you would swap out.

There is a knock sensor also that needs to be changed...just go to auto zone and ask for a knock sensor for an OBDI car.

Thats it...swap that and a tuned PCM and you're good to go. I did the conversion on my car.

you prolly should get the obdI plug in too....or your not hooking a scanner up to it to run the codes...pretty sure you cant run codes from obdI through obdII plug...well certain you cant...the plug in under your dash on the driver side

Well the good thing about his situation is his motor is from an OBDI, the car is just an OBDII. (SO he already should have the knock sensor on the block)

We traded shells basically and have the crank position sensor issue now which was just really one car had it one did not... is it a problem what should we do lol.

However this is interesting you mention knock sensors. Since my motor is an OBDII setup going in an OBDI I basically have a few extra sensors like the CPS. Obviously it will not hurt me to not run them. (The ECU does not know to look for them anyway)
HOWEVER, would I be correct to assume I need the OBDI Knock Sensor as my OBDII Knock Sensor is not usable?
Or were you guys talking about the Knock Sensor Chip in the ECU itself?

On another note, any OBDI Ecu he should look for over others?

I take it youve never seen a 95 model year Fbody. They have the obd2 plug but still run obd1 pcm's. Its done all the time.

Ive got an OBDII car with an OBDII plug and an OBDI ECM...no problems reading codes. The software to pull codes on the OBDI is a free download so all you need is a laptop and you can do it yourself.

No particular computer to look for...I asked these same questions when i did the swap. Ive got a 95 computer in my 96 car. Why cant you guys just keep the computers that was with each motor? The sensor on the timing chain...not too sure about that one. Ive got an OBDII car and my car as the same thing...think you guys just should have traded whole cars

Because I need to Dyno Tune mine and not many people like the OBDII setup when tuning so OBDI was just easier. Also ntrading whole cars did not work when he had a pretty much stock Formula and I have a nicely done LT4 with mild porting and less then 3000 miles. He also was having issues with the clutch and throw out bearing that needed to be addressed. (Got those all handled now which I know makes him happier) So a straight trade would have taken away a lot of the things I paid for when I bought the Camaro. (Not exactly the best thing to do here)

So it seems pretty obvious that I have to buy a new knock sensor... damn lol. new O2's and a knock sensor.

So the end result is, I need a OBD1 ECU, and Cross needs a OBD1 knock sensor?
There is no alterations to the pin outs? its just doesnt read the extra sensor inputs that the OBD2 did? Straight swap in for the computers and its over?

tell me if i'm wrong.
