stick with your acdelco unit it will last you soooo much longer than any aftermarket unit... now if your going with anything over 450 rwhp i would go with dynaspark

Doesn't make much sense to rate a distributor by horsepower. RPM if anything

Default gm

is the gm performance part the same as the ac delco?? plus wanted a vented unit gm performance opti+msd cap and rotor= more than the price of the MSD opti? decisions decisions. made the mistake of calling the chevy dealership 650 for a new opti wow i call rape.

if your running 450+ then odds are your running your motor well over 5500 rpms at the track...was stating that the acdelco isnt going to hold up and s dynspark is the better of the two if he is going to spend 500 on an opti....if you read his post he asked if it would add hp and i clearly put into words he would understand because obviously he is a newb...these guys work slowly up the pole and we cannot confuse them....i know what im talking about im not dumb....just put things in words he could understand thats all...

you should be fine with a delco....those prices seem odd...the vented opits are usually more...go to ebay and look up partsladi....she sells a good opti...alot of ppl are going with her and not ahving probs...its the same as the acdelco just a different brand...its ok to get though...now all_ignition some guys have had probs with, but i bought from them and havent had a problem yet...we will see...look up both of them...dont buy cheap one from all_ignitioin buy the actaul all_ignition one..basically an acdelco opti with a different pickup..acdelco uses a mitsubishi pick up and all_ignition uses theirs which is an exact replica of mitsubishi

As far as I have seen over the years the later vented ones have always been cheaper. Other than a Dynaspark or MSD, a genuine Delco/Delphi/GMPP is the only stock type of opti I would run.

More cars use the vented, than the non, hence the cheaper price.

And as far as saying (not you Fergy) you should get an aftermarket Opti if you're spinning over 5500 is retarded. Stock rev limiter is set @ 5851 (.43 is you want to get **** lol), and many people spin around 6300 on a Delco Opti.
