lt1 with 1.26 valve springs

lt1 with 1.26 valve springs I want to see if any of you guys are running anything like this.I have a friend thats has some 1.26(old style)springs on his lt1,they are smaller than the stock springs,they are rated .550 lift,he bought the whole kit with retainers off ebay(pbm)brand for $50 .He has about 4k miles on them now,he installed them with prw 1.6 rockers on his stock cam ,and it was a major improvement.I was going beehives when I install my 1.6 rollers ,but I could buy these for the cost of beehive retainers.He also installed his using the stocks shims,I just wondering about how these work long term?
