I get 16/30 in my car, I can't complain about that. I don't think LS1s will get much if any better.

No, it has the A6 in it. Only the GXP will get the M6.

Default LT1 not bad

I traded in a 3.0 V6 93 Ranger automatic XLT standard cab for my 97 Firebird Formula (last year for the LT1). That truck didn't have a whole lot of power and you'd think a 3.0 2-valver would be pretty good on gas. No, the Ranger got about 17 around town and 23 on the highway and that was in perfect tune. It was also an absolute terror in the rain if you had to make a panic stop, the tail end was oh so slide happy. I don't miss it's whining power steering pump one bit. My last Ford for sure. I can't haul yard clippings in the Firebird but no big loss, I can just sit them out at the curb.

So I couldn't be more pleased with 20 city and 30 highway in the Pontiac. Only mods are a throttle body airfoil and synthetic oil. I do like to use a Ethanol Treatment. That darn Ethanol robs us of 10% power and 10% fuel economy. If you doubt it look online at Pure-Gas.com and find a station selling Ethanol-free gas. Give that a spin and you will see what I mean.

I dread the day we're all forced to use E-15.

What a joke this mpg thing is! Who buys a 300+ hp Camaro and worries about 1-2 mpg? We drive these cars to give them hell and enjoy the ride. I would rather drive my lt1 and have fun going to work and get 20mpg than drive my buick and fall asleep from boredom and get 28mpg everyday.

350's back in the day got 12-15 a gallon so I am not going to complain about my Lt1's gas mileage I am going to get in it, lay rubber and enjoy the price of admission!

you 2 realize you revived a 5 1/2 year old thread about 4th gens that is older then the gen 5 Camaro. In fact i don't even think the rumors on the 5th gen had even started when this thread died. I mean Pontiac was still alive.
