Good choice with FI, and a stock bottom end lt1 with le2 heads/cam will make anywhere between 400-425rwhp depending on cam and the supporting mods.

How much do you think having ported heads will benefit forced induction?
Any hp gains from having ported heads on a forced induction motor?

Yes, it will smooth out the air flow (ports will be able to take in more air due to larger cc). If I were in your shoes, and was on budget, I'd forge bottom end to 355 or 383 lower compression like you said, while i'm in there put a blower cam in. Then once funding comes in later I'd go ahead and get the heads and intake manifold done. If you left the motor stock and put a procharger on at 8 or 9 psi you should be in low elevens. (Depending how long the bottom lasted of course.) Remember that the rear is very weak in these cars.

If you end up going FI for sure, no matter what your car is gonna be mean, it just up to you how mean you want it to be haha.

I just spent 2K+ for a 383 shortblock off ebay. If you're going F/I.. Go with the 383. You will not be disappointed.

I have my doubts about the Ebay 383's. You really dont know what there work is like, unless its someone that's well known.

i only read a few posts but whoever told you the stock intake was fine is an idiot...call up lloyd and talk to him about it...the intake is the BIGGEST problem just like an ls1...the intake wont flow what the heads will.....

If your interested in a SC setup im looking to get rid of mine.
Also i would go with the 383 as well, fully ported stock heads and intake will flow more than you need, especially with boost. Im running stock unported heads and it makes over 550whp on a 355.

All you need to know...LE2 heads, cam, ported intake should net around 400rwph and a well put together car.

Bought from same company that two friends bought from. They both have 15K and 22K miles respectively on there engines with zero issues.

The first one is running daily on 20 pounds of boost and the 2nd is high compression with a 150 shot. Not worried at all.

Money isnt to big of a problem I have been saving and have few expenses. I just want it done right I have the block and the forged internals for a 396. I was just woundering if the heads were worth porting on a D1SC or a STS? Cause both are an option.
