Default When changing the master and slave cylinder do I have to...?

When changing the master and slave cylinder for my 96 z28 do I have remove the transmission?

To replace the slave, yes, but not for the master.

i didnt have to remove my tranny when replacing the slave on my t56 the slave cylinder is external and the ls1 come with the internal slave i believe.. Look right next to the tranny on the left hand side loosed the two bolts and remove the clutch line and bam..

Wrong. He's asking about a '96 car.

LT1 cars have the slave mounted on the exterior of the bellhousing, they can be replaced without removing the trans. Two nuts and off comes the slave.

The master can be wiggled out from under the brake booster carefully.

No, you don't need to remove the transmission on an LT1 to replace the slave or master. On an LS1, the slave is internal so you do need to remove the trans to replace it, but not the master.
