Should I replace the slave?

My car had an engine and tranny swapped in with 40k miles on both. When they were swapped the previous owner put in a new clutch. I've been sort of hard on it, so it wore quick. The hydraulics engage perfectly still (nice and smooth, no noise, proper peddle position).

Should I replace my slave when I swap my clutch? I'm trying to pinch pennies now, and I don't want to buy something that doesn't NEED to be replaced (atleast now or in the near future).

I realize this is the best time to do it, I already have the tranny apart, but is there that big of a chance it'll go out?

I asked about the same thing a few posts down. Joey@TickPerformance recommended for me to replace it while I am in there even though I already have a 2001. Might as well to avoid hassle down the road.

Yes, but even on one that has less than 10k miles on it?

Like the others stated its always a good idea to replace the slave while its accessible. It will make you feel better about the whole thing if you just go ahead and do it. The last thing you want is to have to drop that transmission again.

What year is your engine/tranny from? I thought you said 40K miles in your original post.

The engine/tranny is from an 01 SS, and it had 30k on it. The previous owner swapped it in with new clutch and slave when it was put it, which was 10k miles ago.

So, I'm assuming it's still pretty fresh. Plus since I learned clutches burn pretty fast this time around, I'm going to try and granny it as best I can.

I think I'll hold off on the slave swap until spring when I get the Tick Master and put them in together.

And now I guess you guys will just wait on my next thread here "HELP MY SLAVE BROKE!!" lol... *knocking on wood now*
