Won't Shift into 2nd Sometimes

Won't Shift into 2nd Sometimes I just bought my '01 SS last night and since I've driven it around I've noticed that just taking off from a light (just babying it) that sometimes it won't go into second like its routing it to 4th gear on purpose then if I put it in 4th and try to shift back to 2nd it works.
Anyone heard about or experienced this?

In a certain RPM range in first gear, (usually between 1500-2400 rpm's usually) The car wants you to shift DIRECTLY to 4th to help w/ emmision problems.
They have a "Skip Shift Eliminator" out there to dissengage this and you can shift freely.
There is also a free mod that can be done to this called "!CAGS" Do a search and it will inform you exactly what to do.

Re: Won't Shift into 2nd Sometimes These cars force you to go into 4th from 1st in an effort at fuel economy. If you give it more gas pedal or hold it in 1st longer, it will then allow you to go into 2nd from 1st. You either learn to live with it or do the !CAGS mod. This consists of adding a resister in the wiring on the transmision or buying a plug(that has a resister) and pluging it into the wiring path.

Re: Won't Shift into 2nd Sometimes Damn thats a relief I thought I bought a freakin lemon or something. I used to shift my 87 GT like that but I'd go from 2nd to 4th but I've never heard of going from 1st to 4th.
I'll definately want to get that !CAGS mod done.
