T56 question
What area power wise do the stock ones start to break, provided they have a good clutch setup and who can build a built one that can take 800 hp or so. I have been thinking about converting over from my th400 just so I can get more highway use out of it. Any idea or help would be greatly appreciated THANKS

The stock ones are rated to 450 ft/lbs of torque, but I've seen plenty of stock cars break parts that are shifting related. We offer three levels of upgrades to these things, and a bunch of options to even further beef them up. Check out our site for all the details:

I would personally suggest going to a Viper spec unit at that power level . I usually tell people that the stock style unit will hold up to about 650 in a normal weight F body . At those levels , its pretty common to see yoke failure or breaking the input or output shafts . Converting to the Viper input and output adds strength to the unit in those weak spots as well as replacing the stock yoke with a better part as well .
