Default t-56 in a truck

a friend of mine has a 01 silverado 2wd fivespeed 4.8 he is thinking about putting one of his t-56's in it. How much trouble would it be to put the six speed in a truck?

No its got a NV3500 in it or as we use to call them Getrags . They are decent in strenght but are not designed for racing use . They are a light duty truck transmission . You can install a T56 from an LSX car pretty easy but the shifter will be way too far back . Idealy , a midshift T56 would be what you would want in a truck application that you intend on turning into a street rod type deal .
