I've driven the stock hurst, Pro 5.0, and Hurst Billet plus. I liked the hurst billet plus best. The pro 5.0 seems notchy to me and the billet hurst just shifts really nicely.

Another vote for the Hurst Billet Plus.
Great shifter IMO
When I added a Lou's short stick even better.
Another nice feature of the Billet plus is the option of removing some of the centering springs to make it less notchy. I did this after my SS install since the shifter loss leverage.

i have MGW for c6 vette , but i didn't know that they can make for the F-Body , the MGw rocks i loved it in my c6 , but i think most of you guys nominate the Pro 5.0 , so i think the pro5 take the majority in votes, know i think i'll choose between the pro 5.0 or MGW ( if they can make it for the F-Body ) , on2 can you tell me about your MGW??????

Can I ask you guys why you waste your money on after market shifters? I have beatin the hell out of my stocker with the stock handle even. I bang the hell out of ot as well it holds up fine and I forsure find the gears just as quickly then any after market shifter. Throw a short stick handle on there to get a little stiffer feel.

I think the problem with my stock one is that my clutch is going the fluid is black because i didnt change it because im going to do a clutch this spring either way. Its stock and im sure the fluid heats up and cause's my shifts to feel ackward and different everytime i go for a gear even if its the same one back to back it feels a lil different.

It also cause's me to miss a gear sometimes so i think its because my clutch is on its last life... but i have been debating Pro5.0 my buddy has it and it feels so nice!

I have had or driven all of these shifters and I love the billet shifter with the short stick.
Hurst billet with UMI short stick here, perfect combo. If anyone wants the chrome hurst stick, I'd be willing to sell it.

It's not really about what's best for the car, more like the best for you. I personally prefer the feel of my Hurst Comp Pro (pretty much the same feel as the billet) over the Pro 5.0. I'd probably try a MGW Shifter as I've tried one in a Cobra and thought it had a fairly solid feel to it.

It really depends on what you are looking for as preference when YOU shift. IF I were to build a first gen up, the Pro 5.0 type feel is something I'd look for to match up to the car's older raw feel. In my 4th gen I'm looking for that Hurst feel as I enjoy being fairly comfortable when I drive.

Keep in mind the stick and **** also add/detract from the experience. Having the C6 Shifter **** is probably one of the best ***** I've used in a manual, contours to the palm of my hand.

I like the MGW but have never tried it, I have the hurst billet shifter but the stick is way too long. Ive taken about 3 inches out of mine and welded it back together and I like it alot.
