5th gear grind/vibration?
Long story short...
Car was an a4 swapped to m6.
Everything is fine except for 5th gear, it won't engage, it just vibrates and grinds, not much I can explain it's just annoying... luckily it isn't really needed... but as I'm trying to sell the car, it helps when everything is working properly.
So any ideas or anyone have any problems like this before? Could it be something minor like a synchro or will it need an entire new 5th gear?

Verify there's no shifter stop to prevent it from engaging. (Does it go into 5th with the motor off?)
If only when running, it's most likely a synchro blocker ring, or a fork pad issue that's relatively easy to fix. If the slider and/or gear engagement teeth are worn because of the grinding, they'll need fixed too. Not too much extra work, just an extra $200-$250.
