Yaaaayyy! I've got that part! I think I'm going to get it and sell my retro tranny. $1400 for a 2006 GTO tranny with 31,000 miles and warranty is a pretty decent deal. I've never found one locally until now and I usually find them hundreds of miles away for much more than that with higher miles - and forget about buying them with the LS2 included -usually $6500 and up! Thanks for all the advice! You and Source have been great!

Well, it looks like the '06 GTO transmission is not a DIRECT bolt-in. The bellhousing hits the starter. I need to find an F-body bellhousing. I think I saw somewhere that you could use a GTO starter. Is that true?

Yeah, I'll try to find a bellhousing - not having much luck there. D&D wants $200 for one and they're not open this week. I can't even see the difference between the two with the naked eye. The differences are extremely subtle. I'd grind the bastard to fit if I could see what I had to grind! I was told by two different people that the GTO bellhousing was the same. Apparantly they were wrong.
If I did come across a starter, what year do I get - '04 or '06?

It was cheaper and easier to get a GTO starter; couldn't find any bellhousings locally. Anyway, got the car running. The transmission shifts good and seems ok. I have a bearing noise though whether the clutch is in or out. I have a new pilot bearing and TOB but I'm thinking one of them is bad. If I start the car with the clutch in, so the input shaft is not turning, the noise is still there. It changes pitch slightly when I work the clutch pedal.
The clutch seems to work good, pedal height is good, and the car doesn't creep when I have the clutch pushed in with the shifter in 1st, so I don't think there is a problem with the clutch. Like I said before, the noise is there whether the clutch is in or out. Also, the noise changes with engine rpm. Any ideas?
