front offset lever roll pin not budging!!!
This LS1 T56 trans is stuck in fourth gear. I am trying to repair it for free for a fellow who is in grad school (studying to be a rocket scientist - no joke!!).
Following the Tremec manual, all steps up to punching the above ref'd pin are done.
I have used more force than is typically required to move most roll pins and am afraid of damaging the shift rod/case.
Is this roll pin the same diameter (approx) as the roll pin in the rear shifter box?
Does the head of the pin push all the way past the shifter rod or does it simply fit inside the diameter of the rod?
Has anyone had a similar problem?
thanks,
Bob

Same pin, same diameter as the offset lever pin. Unless the previous rebuilder forgot to remove the pin during reassembly, and cheaped out and left it in, there shouldn't be any reason why it won't tap out... You may want to put a little heat on it and try an easy-out to see if you can pull it back out...
