The Mcleod single disc kevlar w/steel flywheel is all you need. Everyone round here uses it. Takes a ton of abuse, no chatter either. I would not put a SPEC. in my car.

I have had my spec for many miles now and it is excellent. No chatter what so ever, and seems to hold rev limiter launches on slicks pretty well.

I haven't tried any other clutches myself so I'm not going to comment on them, but I run a spec and so do all the people I know - no complaints yet.

I've had my SPEC III ceramic since early spring and it is a GREAT clutch!!! Pedal effort is just a tad heavier than stock, and it holds like a ****!!! No chatter, no soft pedal, even after back to back to back runs at the track launching at 5000rpm on drag radials. Shifts are nice and smooth up and down through the gears, and just as smooth powershifting at 6000+rpm. I give it two thumbs WAY up!

Even thought its not a ls1.I use the mcleod clutch (single kevlar setup) .It holds great ,not much more than stock pedal feel. And holds my power launching @ 5k on et streets.

Spec has had a lot of issues in their clutches here lately ( at least in the mustang world) .They fix the problem( replaceing the clutch at no charge). But this still leaves you with down time twice.
My mcleod setup has 10k on it and no issues at all.

thanks everyone for the comments. i think i am going to go with the mcloed single disk with all updated hydralics and alumimnum fly wheel. this setup is about the same cost as the spec once you fator in the hydralics and flywheel together. ill put a post up once i get some track time and cruising under my belt!. thanks again to everyone that responded.
