What speed/rpm for 6th gear???
Picked up a 94 z-28 with a lt-1 and a hot cam set-up, t-56, 3.42 gear. finally got a little highway time today and made it to 6th gear but the car didn't like much below 1800 rpm which comes out to about 70 mph.
Does that seem normal?? Seems like it wants more gear/use more
thanks

This is a nice simple Win32 program I found a few years ago, that works nice for these types of "what-ifs"..
1800rpm should be about 80mph, unless you happen to have one of the M28/M29 type units that were rumored to made it into some early '94 models?? Check to see if your trans has skip shift, or check what your RPM/MPH should be with a 2.66 gear, vs a 2.97 gear..

thats odd that your car doesn't like anything under 1800 rpm. I spend the majority of the time I drive, in 6th gear, doing 55 mph. Zero issues, still has enough to get up n go that I never have to shift out if I come up a large hill or anything. Could it possibly be your hotcam being untuned? Try getting going in first and then shift to second so that you are at 1000 rpm, and accelerate from there. Does it do the same thing?
