Default Another Textralia Thread

Can anyone chime in with any experience, direct change from Textralia Z-Grip to Textralia Exo-Skel would be preferable but anyone with any experience is helpful.

I'm debating over the exo-skel, thanks in advance.

As far as this vote goes its referring to the Exo-Skel

ex:

a) Less Weight/Drives Better
"Exo-Skel is Less Weight/Drives Better then 0Z700 Z-Grip"

I can't speak on a direct comparison, but I can speak to availability. You'll be hard pressed to find any Exo-Skels available any time soon. Nasty rumor is that they lost the manufacturer of the pressure plates.

well whats the closest alternative... keep in mind the reason I've been going with Textralia this whole time is because of drivability.

textrailia drivability isnt the best.. its a puck design its in its nature to chatter some.

the spec 3+ is very drivable new full face design. still a on/off clutch have to be quick but not as bad as puck design clutches like the old spec 3

If they are installed properly, THEY DO NOT CHATTER. The only time mine started chattering was when the clutch material was nearly gone. Otherwise this clutch retains 100% driveability compared to stock.

Exo-Skel here...

Pedal pressure is AS LIGHT or LIGHTER than stock.

Shifting in 2-6 gears is AS DRIVABLE as stock.

Getting out of first of course cannot be as drivable as stock, but still TONS better than both a Spec 3 and a Spec 3+ I used to have.

Between 1k and 2k RPM, the floater plate rattles a bit, but that is PURELY a noise issue, nothing to do with the way it drives.

Shoot, does this mean they might not rebuild them at this time either?

my old Z-grip never made a noise and never had any issues. it's in another member's car now and he loves it to death. anyone with something negative to say about Textralia has either never owned their products, or had a one in a million fluke defective part or a bad install.

YES, IT DOES. i could tell no difference from stock except for extra power handling ability. it engages a *little* fast, but is in no way difficult to drive. this is why they cost $1K, and are worth every penny.

The SPEC 3+ and Tex Z both can drive like stock, even taking off in 1st. The Tex is known not to fully disengage at WOT shifts which is why alot of people go with the Tick master.

My experience is totally different. I just finished installing the Exo-Skel and it is nothing like stock. The pedal pressure is at least 2-3 times the effort of the LS6 clutch.
I don't have massive power levels...about 390 rwhp. This clutch is an animal...it's heavy and it chatters like a **** in 1st and 3rd. It can be eliminated with more revs and quicker release, but then the tires spin...but that's OK since mine isn't a daily driver or even street legal.
It feels like if I shift hard that it will rip the rear axle clean out from underneath the car. Clutch grabs HARD at about the top 1/2" of pedal travel.
